Representatives of 196 countries, including 50 heads of state and government, will take part in the UN Climate Change Conference COP 25, which will be held in Madrid from December 2 to 13, RIA Novosti reported.

The summit will be opened by UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres and Acting Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, the Spanish government said in a statement.

Among the others, the current President of Argentina Mauricio Macri and the President of Ecuador Lenin Moreno, 15 European Prime Ministers (including France and Portugal), EC President Ursula von der Leyen, European Diplomacy Director Josep Borrell, European Council President Charles Michel and European Parliament Speaker David Sassoli will be present.

There will be a delegation of 16 congressmen and senators led by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi from the US, which officially announced the withdrawal from the Paris climate deal.

The meeting will be attended by the leadership of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the Inter-American Development Bank.
