YEREVAN. May 3 (Interfax) - Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and his Ukrainian counterpart Dmitry Kuleba have discussed regional affairs and the ongoing normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations by phone.

"The sides have discussed items on the agenda of bilateral relations and political dialogue. The Armenian and Ukrainian foreign ministers have also touched upon regional affairs," the Armenian Foreign Ministry's press service said.

Mirzoyan highlighted the efforts towards enduring peace and stability in the South Caucasus and noted the need for the strict compliance with the territorial integrity principle and the commitment to the Almaty Declaration of 1991 in settling Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, including border delimitation.

"The importance of stances on the matter expressed by international partners, including the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, was emphasized," the ministry said.

In turn, Ukrainian media said that Kuleba and Mirzoyan had agreed on political consultations between the two foreign ministries on topics of mutual interest.

I welcomed the agreement on delimitation of the Azerbaijani-Armenian border. We agreed that the foreign ministries would hold political consultations on a broad range of matters of mutual interest," Ukrainian media quoted Kuleba as saying on a social network.
