DOSKIE, Miss. (WMC) - A preliminary report from the National Weather Service says that an EF-1 tornado swept through the Pickwick Lake area Thursday evening.

The NWS office in Huntsville, Alabama, says that early information indicates that the tornado’s path began in Doskie, Mississippi, though it’s possible the starting path may be extended farther west into Alcorn County.

The tornado then traveled northeast at 105 miles per hour, crossing Pickwick into Northwest Alabama, and then ending in Walnut Grove, Tennessee.

No injuries or fatalities were reported.

This brings the Mid-South’s recent tornado tally up to five, with the other four all being EF-3s.

These reports are preliminary, and more information is expected as surveys continue.
